I haven’t posted what I am doing in a while, so we will see how long this lasts.

This week was quite productive, Saturday the 8th I wrote a blog post for the Justin Ellis’ Blog on Portland Press Herald which should be posted around the 17th of November. It is about 2 productivity tools to simplify social networking.

I also wrote another blog post for Goodwill’s Blog about cargo pants. Here is an excerpt:

Cargo pants are comfortable to wear, but are these 6+ pocketed cousin to the chino appropriate business attire? It really depends on what industry you are in, and if your company allows it. Unless you are Bear Grylls and require 14 pockets on your pants to store supplies, avoid them in the workplace.

Work was productive, getting ready for a really neat art show: Goodwill’s Art for Everyone - A Collection of Donated Art. It will be part of Portland’s first Friday art walk, so if you are in the area stop by and say hello. Directions, date and time are in the above link. I have seen some great deals this week, and all the money goes to a good cause. So if you are in the area that night, stop by and say hello, I will be working there.

In web design world, I have been playing with Microsoft Sharepoint and can’t believe how easy it is to use. I finally found a form validation script using jquery that I like. I have been checking out stuff on seomoz and really did their new layout. Makes my design site seem inferior aesthetic-wise.

I have also been watching videos on revision3 called Pixel Perfect with Bert Monroy. The videos are a little on the long side, but a must for anyone that wants to refine their photoshop/illustrator skills. On a side note, I need to find some more of my old artwork and post them on here.

The wife and I watched 2 movies this week: I am Legend and Be Kind Rewind. I am Legend was really good and worth a rent if you haven’t seen it yet. Make sure you watch the animated shorts in the extras section, it really adds to the story line. Be Kind Rewind was a disappointment. I couldn’t connect to any of the characters, and it was hard to stay focused. I was more concerned about what people were talking about on twitter, then what Jack Black was doing.

I leave you with this advice: Don’t eat the chicken crispers at Chili’s, they are closer to slimy than crispy. What a waste of 10 dollars.
